What is AndrIoT?

AndrIoT is a home and small-business security service. You install the AndrIoT app on an old Android phone, and the phone becomes a camera, microphone and sensor hub that you watch and control from the AndrIoT dashboard at app.andriot.net.

You can create an AndrIoT account with an email address and password, or with Google. If you choose Google, AndrIoT receives only your name, email address and profile picture (the openid, email and profile scopes) and uses them solely to create and identify your AndrIoT account. We do not read your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data, we do not use Google data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Read the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Good questions.

Which phones work?
Almost any Android phone. Android 5 and newer run the full app; Android 4.1 and newer can run the lightweight Legacy app. You watch and control everything from any modern browser.
Do I need to buy any hardware?
No. AndrIoT is software for the phone you already have. A charger and a Wi-Fi connection are all it needs. If you want smart battery cycling, you can optionally use a smart plug.
How private is my video?
Live streams go peer-to-peer (WebRTC) between the phone and your browser, with an encrypted relay as a fallback when a direct connection isn't possible. Video is only stored if you enable motion clips, and then only for your plan's retention period. We run no ads and don't track your video. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Is the phone okay running 24/7?
That's what the smart-plug battery cycling is for: it keeps the battery from sitting at 100% on a charger all day. The tamper alarm and power-outage alarm also tell you if anything changes.
What happens when I try the demo?

Where do alerts go?
You get alerts in the dashboard and as push notifications. With the Forwarding Hub you can also forward alerts and sensor data to Telegram (Standard and Pro), or to custom Webhooks and MQTT (Pro).
Where is my data stored?
Our cloud runs on self-managed servers in the EU. Video recordings, if you enable them, are stored in Cloudflare R2.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Payments are handled by Stripe. Cards are supported today, and more payment methods are coming. You can cancel any time; see the Terms for details.
Can I use it to watch other people?
Only where you have the right to. Monitor your own home, shop or pets, tell people when they're being recorded, and follow local laws. Covert spying is against our Terms.
